This project is to honour and pay tribute to the Women who have throughout history shaped our world, our thinking, our perspective and our futures.
Shot on International Womens Day, Sunday 8th March 2026.
Sam Rothwell, took on the role and did lots of research into the character. The amazing people Andrew and Olly at Trimar Aquaria, were just brilliant and made Dave the Colombian Boa available on the day. Alex (kits Mum) did hair and make up and her attenbtion to detail was second to non. Kit once again took on the character of Cleopatras maid and absolutely nailed it. Sam was extraordinary and in amongst braziers of fire and an audience she befriended Dave the snake and let him twist around her body, neck arms and wrist to get this epic shot. The background was a vector image downloaded and interpolated up and then with the help of Jarrard Harrison from St Ives Signs we had a polyester banner made 16ft x 9ft to set the scene of an Egyptian plalace.
Chris webber my dear friend assisted with rigging and became Mr Pyro, with topping up the braziers with bio fuel for the fire.
Chris at The Cardboard Plinth company, very kindly provided two 100cm cardboard plinths, in excahnge for photographs and I covered these with a hieroglyphics cloth to create the Egyptian plinths.
Lesley from Roswarne House in Camborne provided the amazing house for the shoot and we set everything up in the Ballroom area which worked a treat.
